It has been a long time in coming, but I am back. I just don't have enough hours in a day!!!!!!! What started out as a hobby has taken over some what. I do however have some very exciting news though, I am going to have a table at the British Bear Artists Awards, in Hove in December. I suppose that's why I'm so busy, I,m trying to get ideas and new designs ready. Now you might think that December is months away, but time has a habit of flying!!!!!!! and seeing as Hove is such a BIG event I want to be ready , willing and able to cope with what ever this day may bring. Unfortunatley, this does mean that my web site may not have many new creations as I will be saving them for Hove, but you could always make a date in your diary and come visit both me and my bears there!!!!! I will give you dates and time in a later blog. Bye for now.

After Christmas at Higgys Bears
Hi all,
What a year this has been - starting my business one minute, coming second in the BBAA and then Christmas arrived. It has been really busy at Higgysbears.co.uk.
Many thanks to all the people who have supported me throughout this year. Of course I couldn't have done it without my little creations!! At the time of writing this - ALL SOLD OUT!!
New designs are on their way as well as my, and your, old favourites. Keep checking the web site from the end of January to see some of my 'new arrivals'.
Happy New Year to all my customers.

British Bear Artist Awards
Well I think I am back down to earth now. What a day Sunday was, full of excitment, amazement and plenty of nerves, but i am very pleased to say it was all worth it. I won an award, i came second in my category (bear artists of 18months or less). What an experience to say the least! then when my husband and I got home our family had decorated the house inside and out, with banners and balloons with plenty of food to go round. that was a wonderful surprise.
I have got photos of my bears which will follow soon .
Until next time Happy Hugs

P. S. if you can t wait for pics. they are avaliable on the Teddy Bear Forum.

What a weekend......
Well, as previously posted, I had a table at a local event held at the Kings Head Public House in Hailsham.
As it was a small event, i only took a small amount of bears - 23 to be exact. It was a 6 hour event, but i have never been so busy!!! I came home with just 4 bears from the 23 and orders for more bears from my catalog..... I'm soooooo happy :) What a cracking event, well done to those who organised it, you did a brilliant job.
Thats the good news from the weekend, the bad news is that the magazine showing the British Bear Artists Awards 2008 entries has still to hit the shelves of my local shops, any of them, and trust me, i've checked in all of them :(
I have now waited 5 days, will my suspense ever be ended??? I suppose it will soon enough, the big day is this Sunday!!!! wish me luck x
I'll let you all know how it goes after the event, if i dont post anything else until then..... x

Local Event
Well, this week I've had something else to keep my mind occupied whilest I wait for the BBAA next weekend.
My local public house, The Kings Head, have organised a fair with tables selling hand made cards, fragrances and other crafts with proceeds and donations going to charity.
I was invited to hold a table to show and sell my teddy bears so if you are passing The Kings Head, South Road, Hailsham on the 15th November between 2pm and 8pm, stop off for a drink and say hi!
